SSC CHSL 2023 Age Limit
One of the major eligibility criteria for SSC aspirants is the age limit. Candidates must be between 18-27 years for SSC CHSL 2023. Candidates born not before 02-01-1995 and not later than 01-01-2004 are eligible to apply.
SSC CHSL 2023 Education Qualification
- 12th Pass
- The minimum educational qualifications essential to be possessed by the aspirants to be eligible for SSC CHSL are:
- For LDC/ JSA, PA/ SA, DEO (except DEOs in C&AG): The candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
- For Data Entry Operator (DEO) in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
SSC CHSL 2023 Application Fees
- The application fee to be paid while applying for SSC CHSL is Rs. 100/-
- No fee is required to be paid by female, SC, ST, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen candidates as they are exempted from paying the fee.
- Application fees can be paid through offline or online methods.

Tier-II will include following three sections having two modules each:
Section-I:

Module-I: Computer Knowledge Test
Module-II: Skill Test/ Typing Test
Tier-II will be conducted in two sessions – Session –I & Session-II, on same day. Session-I will include conducting of Section-I, Section-II and Module-I of Section-III. Session-II will include conducting of Module-II of Section-III.
It will be mandatory for the candidates to qualify all the sections of Tier-II.
- Tier-II will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions, except for Module-II of Section-III. The questions will be set in English and Hindi except for Module-II (i.e. English Language and Comprehension module) in Section- II.
- There will be negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section-II and Module-I of Section-III. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the
- Module-I of Section-III i.e. Computer Knowledge Test is mandatory but qualifying in
Module-II of Section-III i.e. Skill Test/ Typing Test:
- Module-II of Section-III will include conducting of Skill Test/ Typing Test in Session-II on the same
- Skill Test/ Typing Test will be of qualifying
- Errors in the Skill Test will be calculated up to 2 decimal
- Skill Test/ Typing Test will be conducted as per the following scheme:
Skill Test is mandatory for Data Entry Operators. No candidate is exempted from appearing in the Skill Test.
Part A – Skill Test for the post of DEO/ DEO Grade ‘A’:
- ‘Data Entry Speed of 8,000 (Eight Thousand) Key Depressions per hour on Computer’ will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/ key depressions as per the given passage. The duration of the Test will be 15 (Fifteen) minutes and printed matter in English containing about 2000-2200 key-depressions would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the Computer. The passage to be entered in the Computer may also be displayed on the computer
- Candidates eligible for scribe as per Para 8.1 and 8.2 will be given compensatory time of 5 minutes. Therefore, duration of Skill Test for such candidates will be 20 minutes.
Part B – Typing Test for other posts i.e. LDC/ JSA:
- The medium of Typing Test will be Hindi or English. The candidates will have to opt for the medium of Typing Test (i.e. either Hindi or English) in the online Application
- The choice of Typing Test given by the candidate in the online Application Form shall be treated as final and no change in the medium of Typing Test will be entertained
- Candidates opting for English medium should have typing speed of 35 words per minute (w.p.m.) and those opting for Hindi medium should have typing speed of 30 words per minute (w.p.m.). 35 p.m. and 30 w.p.m. correspond to about 10500 key depressions per hour and about 9000 key depressions per hour respectively.
- The speed will be adjudged on the accuracy of typing on the Computer of a given text passage in 10
- Candidates eligible for scribe will be given compensatory time of 5 minutes. Therefore, duration of Typing Test for such candidates will be 15 minutes.
SSC CHSL 2023 Eligibility Criteria
- Citizen of India
- Subject of Nepal or Bhutan
- Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement.
- Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India Candidates belonging to the category 2, 3, 4 must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt. of India in their favor.
