Intelligence Bureau IB Security Assistant Recruitment 2025 - Selection Fees
The IB Security Assistant/Executive selection process comprises three stages:
Tier I (Objective Test):
1.
This online, objective-type examination uses Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
2.
It covers topics such as General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Numerical/Analytical/Logical Ability, English Language, and GeneralStudies.
3.
The exam is total of 100 marks and lasts 1 hour.
4.
There is a negative marking of ¼ mark for each incorrect answer.
Tier II (Descriptive Test):
1.
Candidates who pass Tier I move to this stage.
2.
It is an offline descriptive test that includes translating a 500-word passage from a local language/dialect to English and vice versa.
3.
This section is of 40 marks and the duration of exam is 1 hour.
4.
The Security Assistant/Executive post specifically includes a spoken ability test, worth 10 marks, which is assessed during Tier III.
Tier III (Interview/Personality Test):
Candidates who qualify in both Tier I and Tier II are called for this round.
This stage assesses the candidate’s personality and suitability for the role.
It carries 50 marks.

Intelligence Bureau IB Security Assistant Recruitment 2025 - Salary Range
The IB Security Assistant Salary 2025 is based on Level-3 of the pay matrix, which ranges from Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100, along with applicable Central Government allowances. In addition to the basic salary, employees are also entitled to a Special Security Allowance, which is calculated at 20% of the basic pay. Moreover, those who perform duties on holidays can receive cash compensation, subject to a maximum limit of 30 days in a year. These added benefits make the Intelligence Bureau Security Assistant role financially attractive and rewarding.
