(B) MINIMUM AGGREGATE QUALIFYING SCORE:

Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in Main
Examination. Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approx.) of the category wise vacancies will be shortlisted for Phase-III from the top of the
category wise merit list subject to a candidate scoring the minimum aggregate qualifying score in Main exam, as decided by the Bank.

F.A.Q.

Yes, SBI PO mains is far harder. SBI PO asks deep-level puzzles, heavy DI sets, tough reading comprehension, and high-level banking GK. RBI Assistant is more speed-based, simpler, and predictable. SBI PO is a professional officer-level exam, while RBI Assistant is a clerical/administrative role. Naturally the difficulty is higher for PO.

No. SBI doesn’t care about your degree. They care about your confidence, clarity, communication, and reasoning. Whether you’re an engineer, arts student, commerce student, or even BSc/BCA, all have equal chances. Your personality matters more than your degree.

Yes. SBI is the biggest bank in India, with the biggest customer load. So pressure is naturally higher. You handle complex tasks, big targets, branch operations, audits, and customer issues. But the learning is massive, and promotions are faster than most banks.

They ask things like:
• How will you handle an angry customer?
• What will you do if staff is not cooperating?
• How will you recover a loan?
• What will you do in a fraud case?
They want to see your thinking under stress.

For most students, 8–12 months is realistic. SBI PO is not like normal bank exams; it has tougher reasoning, tricky DI, and heavy competition. A topper may finish in 3–6 months, but the average candidate needs a year to master puzzle-based reasoning, high-level quant, and descriptive writing skills. SBI PO preparation is more about consistency rather than hours. Even 3–4 hours daily with mock tests and revision is enough if done without breaks. Students from non-maths background usually take longer, but clear the exam through mocks and practice.
