ECGC PO 2025 Recruitment - Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must check the ECGC PO eligibility criteria before applying for the same. The candidates who apply for the ECGC PO Exam should ensure that they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria required for the recruitment process.
ECGC PO Educational Qualification
The minimum educational qualification required to become a probationary officer is to hold a Graduation degree from a recognised university/institution. Any graduate is eligible to take the exam; no percentage criteria are mentioned.
ECGC PO Nationality
Any candidate who is applying for the ECGC PO exam should be either:
- a Citizen of India or
- a subject of Nepal or
- a subject of Bhutan or
- a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India.
ECGC PO Age Limit
In order to apply online for the ECGC PO exam, the minimum age of the candidate must be 21 years and the maximum age must be 30 years.
Here is the age relaxation offered to candidates from various reserved categories:

ECGC PO 2025 Recruitment - Exam Pattern
There will be 2 parts of the online examination- Objective Test (MCQs) and Descriptive Test (to test knowledge of English). The structure for ECGC PO Examination has been discussed below.
ECGC PO Objective Test
- The online examination consists of 200 multiple-choice questions for 1 mark each.
- There will be 5 subjects- Reasoning Ability, English, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness, and Quantitative Aptitude.
- A negative marking of 0.25 marks (¼th mark) for each incorrect answer.
- There will be a sectional timing for each test as discussed in the below table.

ECGC PO 2025 Recruitment - Salary 2025
The candidates shall be selected for Probationary Officer in the cadre of Executive Officers at a pay scale of Rs. 53600-2645(14)-90630- 2865(4)-102090. The officers are also eligible for the allowances and benefits like DA, HRA, TA, Medical Allowance, and other perks besides basic pay. The CTC for the candidates selected for the post of ECGC PO in Mumbai is Rs. 16 lakh per annum.
