The Complete SSC GD 2026 schedule has been released along with the SSC GD Notification 2026 on 1st December 2025. The application portal will remain active for a month duration from 1st to 31st December 2025, so candidates must note the registration dates as soon as released.

The Staff Selection Commission has released the SSC GD Vacancy 2026 for General Duty Constable posts along with the notification on 1st December 2025. The vacancies has been released category-wise and force-wise, which are also shared below. 

This year, Staff Selection Commission had announced 23467 vacancies for males in BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, AR, and SSF forces and 2020 vacancies for females in BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, and AR forces. SSC GD Vacancy 2026 - Eligibility Criteria

Only the candidates who fulfill the required eligibility criteria as mentioned by the commission are eligible to apply for SSC GD 2026 for Constable posts in BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, AR, SSF, and NCB. The education qualification, age limit, and other criteria are mentioned below-

SSC GD Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for GD Constable (BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSF, SSB, and riflemen) must have passed 10th class or equivalent from a recognized board.

SSC GD Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026)

Candidate is required to be between 18 to 23 years in order to be eligible for the SSC GD 2026 Exam. Age relaxation is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per the government rules.

  • What is the qualification of SSC GD?
    A 10th-pass candidate from a recognized Board/ University is eligible for the SSC GD Constable Exam.
  • What is the SSC GD physical test?
    SSC GD physical test is conducted to evaluate candidates’ physical capabilities. It consists of two stages: the Physical Endurance Test and the Physical Standard Test. After passing this round they will go through a medical test.
  • Is SSC GD a good job?
    SSC GD is a good career option for 10th-pass candidates who want to be part of any defence force and the salary of an SSC GD constable is quite high.

SSC GD Constable 2026 application fee for male candidates is Rs 100, which is to be paid during the application process. However, women/SC/ST/PwD/ESM candidates are exempt from paying the application fee.

How to Apply for the SSC GD 2026 Exam?

  1. Go to the official SSC website: ssc.gov.in.
  2. Once on the homepage, navigate to the “Apply” section and click on the “Apply” link.
  3. If you’re a new user, you need to register yourself.
  4. Please provide the following details: your name, date of birth, email address, and mobile number.
  5. Upon successful registration, you’ll receive a Registration ID and password. Note them down for future use.
  6. Use your Registration ID and password to log in. Find the link for the SSC GD 2026 Exam and click on “Apply”.
  7. Fill in details like name, father’s name, mother’s name, category, gender, nationality, etc.
  8. Enter your educational details such as the name of the school/college, board/university, marks obtained, etc.
  9. Select your preferred exam centres from the list provided.
  10. Upload a recent passport-sized colour photograph and signature (usually in JPEG format and within the specified size).
  11. Pay the application fee using net banking, or debit/credit card.
  12. Before submitting, carefully review all the details you’ve entered to ensure there are no mistakes. 

SSC GD 2024 Exam Pattern

For Computer-Based Examination

The computer-based examination will be of 160 marks consisting of 80 questions. There will be 4 sections in the online exam to be attempted in 60 minutes. 0.25 marks will be deducted when a question is answered wrong. There will be no penalty if the question is left unanswered.   • What is the negative marking for SSC GD 2026 Exam?
    For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
  • Is there any negative marking for unanswered questions?
    No, there will be no mark deduction for blank/unanswered questions.

For the Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The candidate must be efficient enough to finish the race within the time limit as mentioned in the below table. The limit has been set differently for candidates of the Ladakh region.

SSC GD 2026 - Salary Structure

The initial salary of a General Duty Constable is Rs. 23,527 per month and the starting basic pay of a Constable is Rs. 21,700. The maximum basic pay for a GD Constable can reach up to Rs. 69,100 in Paramilitary Forces.
