RRB GROUP D Application Fees

The candidates who are interested in RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 have to pay the requisite application fee as per the table below. The fees are to be paid online through debit, credit, and net banking.

Refund Amount (On Appearing For CBT)

  • For GEN/OBC: Out of this fee of Rs 500 an amount of Rs 400 shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges, on appearing in 1st Stage CBT.
  • For SC/ST/PWD/Women/Ex-Sm/Transgender/Minorities/Economically Backward: This fee of Rs 250 shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges as applicable on appearing in 1st Stage CBT.

Steps to Apply for Railway RRB Group D Recruitment 2026

Candidates have to submit their online applications for RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 by following the below-mentioned steps. 

  1. Visit the official website http://www.rrbcdg.gov.in/.
  2. Click on the ‘New Registration’ link.
  3. Register for the exam and submit the required details like name, date of birth and father’s name, mother’s name, Aadhaar Number, SSLC/Matric registration number, year of passing, mobile number, email ID and then submit the registration form.
  4. Upon registration, candidates need to verify their email ID and mobile number through OTP.
  5. Login on the home page using the registration number and password.
  6. In Part I of the application page, candidates had to provide the details of educational qualification, community, gender, religion, Ex-Servicemen, CCAA, Minority, Economically Backward Class Age Relaxation and other details.
  7. In Part II of the application page, candidates had to indicate his/her priority/preference for the posts.
  8. On completion of application details, candidates were redirected to the payment page using Online Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI and Offline Challan.
  9. Candidates were required to choose the exam language.
  10. Candidates had to fill in the details of a valid photo ID card.
  11. Enter bank details to get the refund of fees.
  12. Candidates had to upload their scanned images of photographs and signatures as per the format and SC/ST candidates were required to upload the category certificates.
  13. Candidates had to agree to the terms and conditions and submit the application form.

RRB GROUP D Eligibility Criteria 2026

The eligibility criteria for RRB Group D is calculated in terms of nationality, educational qualification, and age limit. Only those candidates will be selected for RRB Group D recruitment process who fulfill the RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria as mentioned below. An eligibility update for RRB Group D 2026 has been notified saying CCAA-certified candidates are eligible to apply for Railway Group D CCAA Recruitment 2026.

Nationality

A candidate must be either:

a. a citizen of India, or
b. a citizen of Nepal, or
c. a subject of Bhutan, or
d. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
e. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.
f. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. 

Education Qualification 

  • Candidates with a 10th pass or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT are eligible to apply for the RRB Group D 2026 Exam.
  • Candidates with Course Completed Act Apprentices/ITI for the post of Level-1 unless otherwise specified.
  • Those awaiting the results of their final examination of the prescribed minimum educational/technical qualification are not eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who have completed Course Complete Act Apprentices from any trade.

Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026)

Candidates who fall in the age group of 18 to 33 years as of 01st January 2026 are eligible to apply for the Railway RRB Group D exam. Age relaxation is provided as per the norms.

Medical Standards

Candidates invited for Document Verification (DV) must pass the Railway Administration’s medical fitness test(s). This ensures they are medically capable of performing the duties required for their chosen post(s).

A-2  Distant vision: 6/9, 6/9 without glasses (No fogging test)
Near vision: Sn. 0.6, 0.6 without glasses and must pass tests for colour vision, binocular vision, night vision, mesopic vision, etc
A-3  Distant vision: 6/9, 6/9 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 2D)
Near vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses and must pass the test for colour vision, binocular vision, night vision, myopic vision, etc. 
B-1  Distant vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 4D)
Near vision: Sn. 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required and must pass the test for colour vision, binocular vision, night vision, mesopic vision, etc. 
B-2  Distant vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 4D)
Near vision: Sn. 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required and must pass the test for binocular vision, etc

Free Railway Travel Pass:

The employee is entitled to enjoy the free Travel Passes per year, depending on the post held by the employee. For one round journey, each Travel Pass can be used to travel across the Indian Railways network. The trainer class and the amount of passes that the worker can take advantage of depends on the framework / post of the worker.

Privilege Ticket Order(PTO):

The employee of the railway and the employee’s dependents may use 3 Privilege Ticket Order (PTO) sets per year. The employee can use the PTO to reserve a ticket by paying a one-third (1/3 or 33 percent) nominal amount on the fare’s base price. This PTO will be awarded by the Pass Section as requested by the worker and will be given between 2 stations.

Railway Residential Quarters:

Indian Railways provides its staff with residential quarters to be built and maintained in the Railway premises by the Railway Engineering Department. All fundamental amenities and equipment for a nominal sum will be given in these quarters.

Subsidized food at job:

Railway staff are entitled to take advantage of subsidized meals (breakfast and dinner) in the Railway canteens.

Children’s educational facilities:

good educational facilities will be given to workers ‘ kids close the colonies of the Railway.

Medical care:

The Railway Hospitals will provide free medical services for employees and their dependents. The patients will also be referred to the Corporate Hospitals, depending on the severity.

Employment of parents on compassionate basis:

If any worker dies while on duty or is declared medically unfit by the Railway Hospital Medical Officer, then a member of the family may take up a Railway job on compassionate grounds, based on his / her academic qualification.

Study Leave:

If you want to pursue greater schooling, staff can take advantage of the Study Leave.

Secure Employment: Due to recession there will be no fear of losing the job. In the government sector, there is no’ Hire and Fire’ policy. Once you have been recruited, you will be employed until you retire (age 60).

Pension: The retired workers are entitled to retirement after retirement. This guarantees life-long economic safety.

RRB Group D Exam Pattern

Railway Administration reserves the right to conduct the CBT in either single or multi-stage mode. Candidates qualifying in the CBT shall have to undergo a Physical Efficiency Test (PET). It will be followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination. There shall be a negative marking for 1/3rd marks for each wrong answer.

The minimum percentage of marks for shortlisting for UR is 40%, EWS is 40%, OBC (Non-creamy layer)/SC/ST is 30%.
