SSC CGL Assistant Accounts Officer ( AAO )

As an Assistant Accounts Officer, you will be working in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department under Controller and Auditor General (CAG). You will be undertaking a diverse role, such as assisting the senior officials and reporting them of the department’s finances.

The main roles and responsibilities of an AAO include the following-

  • Passing government bills
  • Preparing payment receipts for the Govt. of India
  • Supervising the work of your subordinate staff
  • Allocating work and assigning tasks to subordinates
  • Maintaining discipline and order in the concerned department
  • Ensuring that the work is done on time and in a proper manner
  • Maintaining the registers in the Accounting department
  • Checking of budget estimates and revised estimates
  • Keeping a check on the Income Tax Assessment
  • Managing monetary transactions
  • Preparing statutory accounts and financial reports
  • Budget control planning

The working hours are fixed for the post of AAO. You will be working 9 to 5 on weekdays. Since it is a desk job, you will be spending most of your time working on the computer.
