It is the recruitment process conducted by the Oriental Insurance Company Limited (OICL), a public sector general insurance company, for the post of Assistant (Class III) in its offices across India. This is a clerical-level position involving customer service, policy processing, claims assistance, and general administrative work.
Nationality: Indian Citizen
Age Limit: 18–30 years (as on cut-off date; relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen as per government rules)
Educational Qualification:
Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university
Computer Literacy: Working knowledge of MS Office
Language: Proficiency in the official language of the applied state/region is mandatory
The selection involves three stages:
Online Preliminary Examination (Objective, Qualifying)
Online Main Examination (Objective, Scoring)
Regional Language Test & Document Verification
Note: There is no interview for the Assistant post.
A qualifying test in the official language of the state/region applied for.
Tests basic reading, writing, and speaking skills.
Failure leads to disqualification regardless of exam performance.
Approximate Gross Salary: ₹35,000–40,000 per month (including DA, HRA, and other allowances)
Pay Scale: ₹26,000 – ₹54,000 (revised periodically)

Prelims: Focus on speed in Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude.
Mains: Strengthen General Awareness (insurance sector, IRDAI, current affairs) and Computer Knowledge.
Language: Practice the regional language of your chosen state (writing, comprehension).
